Arrests Made In Heritage House Slaying, Police Release ID Of Victim

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Police have made an arrest in connection to a fatal shooting on Rhoda Quash Lane located in the Heritage Homes Complex.

On Monday, at 10:49 a.m., New Rochelle police received reports of shots fired. At the scene, officers discovered a 22-year-old male victim from Mount Vernon, who had multiple gunshot wounds to his chest.

Officers provided emergency medical aid until the victim was taken to the hospital. He was later pronounced dead.

NRPD detectives identified several persons of interest and brought them to police headquarters for questioning, according to officials. They also apprehended another suspect later when he sought medical treatment in the Bronx, for a gunshot wound to his hand.

Investigators say preliminary information suggests that the shooter and the victim knew each other, and that the incident may have stemmed from a personal dispute. Police added that the nature of the dispute remains unknown.

Authorities have since identified the victim as David Smith.

So far, police have confirmed three arrests in connection to the case.

Marquis Williamson, 21, of Newark, and Amiri Oneal, 21, of Mount Vernon have been charged with second degree murder.

Anthony Webster, 20, of Mount Vernon, is facing felony weapons charges as a result of the investigation.
