'Art Figur Tour de Shore' 2,000-Meter Open Water Swim Sept. 12

The Art Figur Tour de Shore swimming event is scheduled for Sept. 12 from the beach at Hudson Park in New Rochelle, the city and Westchester Masters Swimming Association announced.

The 2,000-meter “out and back” swim is in honor of Dr. Art Figur, who was a cherished member of the association.

Participants must be at least18 years old, and the entrance fee is $55 per swimmer before Aug. 24 and $60 after that date. Checks can be made out to WMSA and sent to 17 Leslie Lane, Katonah, NY, 10536.

Warm up and check in is from 7:15 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Sept. 12, and check in ends promptly at 8 a.m. Course presentation and safety talk will take place at 8:10 a.m. and the race begins at 8:30 a.m. Wetsuits are permitted.

Awards will be given out in a host of categories following the swim, and refreshments also will be served afterward.
