ArtsFest 2021 Kicks Off Friday Night

Live music at venues in New Rochelle and Pelham

ArtsFest 2021 kicks off with live music at various venues all over New Rochelle on Friday, Oct. 15. Live music on the platform at the New Rochelle train station will welcome commuters and visitors Friday evening, setting the tone for a weekend of art exhibits, open studios, and live performances at 36 venues representing more that 150 visual and performing artists. 4 pm to Midnight: Art Exhibit and Live Music: Diner Brew Co. Tap Room (40 Division Street , NR (914) 815-0507, www.dinerbrewco.com) Featuring an exhibit of works by artist Victoria Rollett.

4 pm to 8 pm; Art Exhibit: Accel 7 Innovation Station (1 Railroad Plaza, NR 10801; 2nd floor – entrance near track 3) Meet artist Rick Freeman and view an exhibit of his photographs. FIREFACE Designs encompasses action pictures of fireworks performed in Westchester skies during various Fourth of July celebrations from 2011-2021. Open to all ages.

4:30 -6 :30 pm Live Music : New Rochelle Train Station (1 Railroad Plaza, NR 10801) Eric Katz (vibraphone) and Alex Safy (bass) will be live, providing a mellow musical welcome to New Rochelle.

5 pm – 8 pm Live Music: Singer Songwriter Showcase at Pelham Art Center (155 Fifth Avenue, Pelham; 914-576- 7747, x115 ; www.pelhamartcenter.org) From 5 to 8 pm Pelham Art Center will host live acoustic music as part of ArtsFest weekend. Enjoy live performances by local musicians including Warren Banholzer, Allison Leah, Bruce Carroll and Julie Corbalis while viewing the Meditations exhibition. There is a suggested $10 donation for this event.

5 pm – 9 pm: Alvin & Friend Restaurant (14 Memorial Highway, NR; 914-654-6549; www.alvinandfriendsrestaurant.... ) View artwork by owner Alvin Clayton and enjoy ArtsFest drink specials at the bar and live music from 7 to 10 pm.

6 pm to 8 pm: Live Music: ArtsFest Cabaret Vertatis at the Ossie Davis Theater (New Rochelle Public Library, 1 Library Plaza, NR, 914-632-7878, www.nrpl.org ) Free music on the inaugural night of the New Rochelle ArtsFest, featuring impeccable musical artists, Claudia Knafo at the piano and Alexander Yagupsky on the bandoneon, along with oboist, Keve Wilson and violinist, Rachel Handman playing the music of Janacek, Kurt Weill, Jacques Brel, Claude Debussy, Carlos Gardel, as well as originals by the members of IMPetus. Afterward enjoy a reception at 8 pm with the musicians and ArtsFest organizers and performers..

6 pm to 9 pm: Live Music: Colonial Tavern @ Paine’s Pub: Thomas Paine Cottage Museum (20 Sicard Ave., NR; 914-633-1776, www.thomaspainecottage.org ) This will be in conjunction with Arts in Oktoberfest celebration. Will be serving light fare. Beer and Wine available. Local distillery samplings. A 21 or over event, minors have to be accompanied by adult to enter. Back again, period music & entertainment performed by Eliza Vincz- Lichack & Erik Lichack. The Museum will be open for visitation and will exhibit our featured artists work. Grand opening of our Bonneville & Paine Exhibit. Free entry with a suggested donation of $10.
