ArtsFest Music Festival at NewRo Parc This Weekend

Part of Annual Weekend Festival Celebrating the Arts in Our Community

The ArtsFest Music Festival returns to NewRo Parc in the heart of downtown this weekend, with free live music all afternoon on Saturday and Sunday, October 22nd and 23rd . (New Ro Parc is located at 455 Main Street, between North Avenue and LeCount Place.)

There will be free yoga on site at 10 am both Saturday and Sunday morning. On Saturday the live music starts at 1 pm with Downstate Darlings playing high energy alternative rock; featured bands include Dave Kain Jazz Ensemble performing original jazz compositions at 2 pm, folk/American/pop group Avalanche at Dawn at 3 pm, jazz group Third Stream Meme at 4 pm, and gospel singer DeLonna Jones at 5 pm.

On Sunday the ArtsWestchester ArtsMobile will be on site from 11 am to 4 pm, offering free visual arts workshops for all ages. The ArtsMobile is a colorful RAM van custom-fit with all kinds of art supplies that brings free, hands-on arts programming led by professional teaching artists to audiences of all ages outside the traditional classroom or studio setting. ArtsMobile, created by ArtsWestchester, sponsored by White Plains Hospital and Con Edison, serving the White Plains Housing Authority. www.artsw.org.

Live music kicks into gear on Sunday as the mobile electric guitar group Tilted Axes marches into the space at 12 Noon. Then enjoy a Local Singer/Songwriter Showcase featuring Alice BrightSky performing alternative Americana at 1 pm, Christopher Underhill playing pop Americana at 2 pm, alternative pop singer Florid at 3 pm and Bruce T. Carroll playing his brand of folk Americana at 4 pm.
