Berkeley College Students Inducted Into Leadership Society

Students are selected for membership to the National Society of Leadership and Success based on academic standing or leadership potential.

Berkeley College celebrated the induction of its fifth cohort of students into the New York and New Jersey chapters of the National Society of Leadership and Success during a ceremony held at The Venetian in Garfield, NJ, Aug. 15. Students are selected for membership to the NSLS, the nation’s largest leadership honor society, by their colleges based on either academic standing or leadership potential.

In his remarks to the inductees, Michael J. Smith, President of Berkeley College, said, “The mission of the National Society of Leadership and Success is not so different from that of Berkeley College. Like Berkeley, NSLS wants to help you achieve your goals and, by empowering you, seeks to create a force of good in the community. You are here because you are leaders, and I cannot wait to see the many ways you will make a difference.”

During the ceremony, 175 students were inducted into the Berkeley College New Jersey and New York chapters. The following students from Westchester County, NY, were inducted into the NSLS:

  • Cynthia Zamora of Hartsdale

Candidacy to the NSLS is a nationally recognized achievement of honorable distinction. The organization hosts live-streamed speaker events, allowing members to hear from and interact with national leaders, celebrities and best-selling authors such as Arianna Huffington, Carly Fiorina and Rudy Giuliani. Berkeley College has three New York campuses — Midtown Manhattan, Brooklyn and White Plains. In New Jersey there are four campuses — Newark, Paramus, Woodbridge and Woodland Park.
