Bites Nearby: Karuta Japanese Restaurant

If you find yourself craving something other than the usual burgers and sandwiches that most places offer, then head down to Karuta Japanese Restaurant for some fresh sushi. You will be amazed not only by the taste, but also the affordable lunch specials the restaurant offers.

Some of their specials for lunch include chicken, beef, salmon and more, served with soup and a choice of white or brown rice for $8.50.

There is also the sashimi lunch that seems to be very popular among customers where for $13.50 one gets three pieces of tuna, two pieces of salmon, two pieces of white fish and two pieces of sawara or saba.

Karuta offers vegetable or hand rolls and also offers a variety of chef special rolls like the "Alaskan" with smoked salmon and avocado or the "Philadelphia" which includes salmon and, believe it or not, cream cheese!

Since 1995, people in New Rochelle have been flocking to Karuta.

Their lunch hours are 12-2:30 p.m. and dinner hours are Monday-Thursday, 5-10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 5-11 p.m. Sunday hours are 5-10 p.m. only.
