Bronx Uber Driver Accused Of Assaulting Customer

The woman was injured when she struggled with him, police said.

RYE BROOK, NY — A Bronx Uber driver was arrested July 3 after he was accused of assaulting a female customer. Rye Brook police said Iqbal Hussain, 26, of Gleason Avenue in the Bronx, was charged with third-degree assault and forcible touching, misdemeanors.

Police said Hussain attempted to subject the victim in his vehicle to sexual contact, and in an effort to defend herself she was injured.

The woman told police she had fallen asleep in the back seat, and when she woke up, she said Hussain was next to her with his hand up her dress, the Journal News said.

The Rye Brook woman struggled with him and fractured her shoulder. Hussain took her home, and she called the police the next morning. The incident happened June 8, the Daily Voice reported.

Hussain was released on $500 bail and will next appear in Rye Town Court July 11.
