Bubble Bus Extravaganza And Touch-A-Truck At The New Rochelle Library

There's still time to enjoy a summer of reading before settling back into the fall routine, but like a soap bubble, nothing lasts forever.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — "Bubble" and "bus" are the magic words we have been waiting for, but the library has even more fun in store for the end of a summer of reading and fun.

The New Rochelle Public Library announced that it will be hosting two free, family-friendly events as summer comes to an end. Community members of all ages are invited to join in the fun with the Bubble Bus and the Summer Reading Closing Party: Touch-a-Truck, both taking place this week.

Bubble Bus Extravaganza - August 24, 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
The Bubble Bus extravaganza will be held in Ruby Dee Park, next to the library at 1 Library Plaza. The Bubble Bus, which is famous for its ability to bring smiles to faces, will offer attendees of all ages a chance to run, dance and jump through bubbles, big and small. The library says that this event promises an afternoon of laughter, and lighthearted fun, suitable for both children and adults. Registration is requested and can be done here.

Summer Reading Closing Party: Touch-a-Truck, August 26, 10 a.m. - noon
Children are invited to celebrate their Summer Reading Challenge reading success, and bid farewell to summer at the Summer Reading Closing Party: Touch-a-Truck, taking place on Lawton Street. This event will feature a variety of trucks, including a fire truck, police vehicles, and a tractor, available for exploration. The library says that attendees will have the opportunity to interact with these vehicles that play significant roles in the community. There will also be crafts, music and giveaways. Registration is requested and can be done here.

It's not too late for children to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge here. Raffle tickets must be turned in by September 10 to be entered into the drawing for the All Together Now: Summer Reading Challenge Grand Prize.

"These events provide an opportunity for our community to gather and celebrate summer's end in a fun and interactive way," Library Director Tom Geoffino said. "The Bubble Bus and Summer Reading Closing Party: Touch-a-Truck are designed to engage people of all ages and create memorable library experiences. It’s been wonderful to see large turnouts for all our summer programs, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to these end-of-summer festivities."
