Coastal Flood Advisory For Southern Westchester Tuesday, Wednesday

Tides could be 1 to 2 feet above normal high tides.

SOUTHERN WESTCHESTER, NY — Hurricane Jose continues to affect the northeastern United States, and the National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for southern Westchester County. The advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Tuesday until 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Tidal departure could be 1 to 2 feet above the astronomical tides during Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning high tides.

Impacts could include shallow flooding in the most vulnerable locations near waterfronts and shorelines.

For low-lying areas, expect around 1 to possibly 2 feet of inundation above ground level.

Some roads and low-lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns and home and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.
