Coastal Flood Statement And Frost Advisory For Westchester: NWS

Bring your plants inside right away and be prepared for isolated coastal flooding on Friday, according to the latest forecast.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — The National Weather service is warning about icy overnight conditions and coastal flooding on Friday.

A frost advisory will be in effect from 11 p.m. Thursday until 9 a.m. Friday for most of Westchester County and parts of Long Island and coastal Connecticut. Temperatures may reach as low as 33 degrees overnight, according to the NWS.

The NWS in New York has also issued a coastal flooding statement for the Westchester Sound Shore during local high tides Friday morning and afternoon. Flooding up to 6 inches above ground level is expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. Brief minor flooding of the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline is possible. Forecasters said water levels may just approach or slightly exceed minor flood benchmarks through the weekend during the daytime high tides.
