Coastal Flood Statement Issued for Long Island Sound Shore: NWS

Breaking: Flooding is anticipated Wednesday night along the Long Island Sound Shore, inundation could reach a half-foot.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Statement for southern Westchester County and southern Fairfield County from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Wednesday night.

The NWS said there could be inundation of up to one-half foot above ground level. The areas vulnerable to brief, minor flooding are expected to be limited to land near the waterfront and shoreline.

Additional minor coastal flooding is possible with evening high tides into the weekend.

Motorists are warned not to drive through flooded roadways.
