Coastal Flooding Possible Thursday Afternoon

SOUTHERN WESTCHESTER, NY — There could be localized minor coastal flooding in southern Westchester County Thursday. The National Weather Service issued a Coastal Flood Statement in effect until 4 p.m. Thursday.

The vulnerable location are along western Long Island Sound.

During high tide Thursday afternoon, there would be tidal departures of 1 to 1-1/2 feet above astronomical tide, the NWS said.

Brief minor flooding of the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline is possible.
