NRPL Foundation Event at Town House on October 21st will be part of ArtsFest weekend

On Saturday morning, October 21st the New Rochelle Public Library Foundation will host a morning version of its popular Cocktails & Conversation series : Coffee, Confections and Conversation with Emily Franklin, author of a book Town & Country Magazine called the “must-read book of Spring 2023.” Franklin’s work, The Lioness of Boston, is a deeply evocative novel of the life of Isabella Stewart Gardner, the daring visionary who created an inimitable legacy in American art and transformed the city of Boston itself.

The event – which will take place at 11 am at Town House Restaurant (559 Main Street in New Rochelle) -- is being held as part of ArtsFest, the weekend-long celebration of the arts taking place from October 19th to 22nd.

Prof. Amy Bass will be the moderator for this delicious dive into a book about art -- and how Gardner's museum changed Boston. Tickets cost $35 and include coffee, pastries, and a glass of prosecco; books will be available for sale and signing from J Anderson’s Books. Proceeds benefit the NRPL Foundation. Cocktails & Conversation is one of the NRPL Foundation’s signature events, designed to bring book lovers together. The evenings feature authors in a discussion moderated by Prof. Amy Bass, Ph.D., NRPL Foundation Board Member, historian and acclaimed author (One Goal: A Coach, A Team and the Game That Brought A Divided Town Together).
