College Of New Rochelle Nursing School Celebrates Anniversary

The college will mark the occasion with a special event at Glen Island Harbour Club.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - From The College of New Rochelle: The College of New Rochelle School of Nursing & Healthcare Professions will mark its 40th anniversary during a special event on May 2, 2018, featuring Jean Watson, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, (LL-AAN), founder and director of the non-profit foundation Watson Caring Science Institute in Colorado, as keynote speaker.

Since its founding, the School of Nursing & Healthcare Professions has graduated nearly 5,000 women and men, who are proudly recognized as "CNR Nurses," known for the compassion, ethical focus, and professional expertise they bring to the field. The School boasts a rigorous academic program specializing in extensive professional preparation and a compassionate caring-healing approach to patient care inspired by the College's Ursuline heritage. Its vibrant and supportive community embraces undergraduate and graduate students of all backgrounds, including traditional and transfer students, second degree students looking to change careers, and registered nurses seeking to advance their education.

Jean Watson is a renowned nursing theorist whose studies on caring have been integrated into education and patient care in health facilities all over the world. In 1980, she established the Center for Human Caring at the University of Colorado, the nation’s first interdisciplinary center committed to using human caring knowledge for clinical practice, scholarship, and leadership. She is a published author and an exhilarating speaker.
