The College of New Rochelle: Padilla Rios Again Named ECAC DIII Metro/Upstate Volleyball Rookie of the Week
Fabiola Padilla Rios has been named the Corvias ECAC Division III Metro/Upstate Volleyball Rookie of the Week.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The Eastern College Athletic Conference announced Wednesday that The College of New Rochelle outside hitter Fabiola Padilla Rios (San Juan PR/University Gardens) has been named the Corvias ECAC Division III Metro/Upstate Volleyball Rookie of the Week.
This is the second consecutive week that the freshman has received this honor. The Blue Angels were accepted for full membership in this historic organization prior to the start of the academic year.
Padilla Rios brings in another ECAC honor after helping the Blue Angels to a perfect 3-0 record, including three sweeps. The rookie led the team with 32 digs, and added 21 kills, seven aces and one block. She slammed eight kills with just one error for a .636 hitting percentage in a sweep over Sarah Lawrence College. Padilla Rios finished the week hitting .313.

Earlier in the week, she was also named the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Rookie of the week for the fourth time.
CNR has won 15 of its last 16 matches, with 14 of the wins coming in straight sets. The Blue Angels host HVIAC foes Pratt Institute and Culinary Institute of America in the Wellness Center for a tri-match on Saturday, October 4. The outcome of the day’s matches will determine the HVIAC Regular Season Champion as either CNR or Pratt will earn the crown. The day begins with the Blue Angels taking on Pratt at 11:00 AM.
