Fabiola Padilla Rios was named HVIAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the fourth time

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – For the fifth consecutive week, the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) has recognized The College of New Rochelle Fabiola Padilla Rios (San Juan, PR/University Gardens) with a weekly honor, as the rookie was named HVIAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the fourth time.
Padilla Rios excelled on the court for The College of New Rochelle last week, helping the Blue Angels to a 3-0 record, with all three wins coming in straight sets. She led the team in digs with 32, adding 21 kills, seven aces, five assists and one block. Against Sarah Lawrence College, the rookie converted 63.6% of her attacks, slamming home a match-high eight kills, adding a match-high seven digs. She tallied a match-high 12 digs in the win over College of St. Elizabeth, adding seven kills, and closed out the week with a team-high 13 digs against Mitchell College, adding six kills and a match-high four aces.
In addition to her four Rookie of the Week awards, she was named HVIAC Volleyball Player of the Week on September 16.

CNR has won 14 of its last 15 matches, with 13 of the wins coming in straight sets and looks to extend that stretch tonight, traveling to Yeshiva University for a HVIAC matchup slated to begin at 8:00 PM.
