College Of New Rochelle Sets Last Day Of Classes
A final graduation ceremony will be held for those students finishing their studies over the summer.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The last classes to be held at the College of New Rochelle will take place Aug. 10. That will mark an end to the school's 115-year history.
A final graduation ceremony for an estimated 200-250 students who will be completing their studies over the summer will be held at the school's wellness center Aug. 20, the Journal News said.
The college was unable to dig itself out of a difficult financial situation discovered in October 2016 and was days away from shutting its doors at times.

Unmet financial obligations were uncovered, including about $20 million in payroll taxes that had not been paid for eight quarters, beginning in 2014.
CNR reached an agreement with Mercy College to give students still working on a degree the ability to transition to Mercy so they can continue their education. The arrangement will allow CNR students to automatically transfer to Mercy for the fall 2019 semester.
