Community Leaders, Organizations Honored At Council Of Community Services Luncheon
A New Rochelle High School junior was awarded a $1,000 scholarship.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The New Rochelle Council of Community Services (NRCCS) honored three outstanding community leaders and organizations at their annual luncheon on Friday June 9th, at the Davenport Mansion in New Rochelle. The 2017 honorees were: The Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library, Colleen Gardephe and Det. Chris Greco. The Friends of NRPL and the two individuals exemplify service to the New Rochelle community. Amy Tietz, co-president of the Friends of NRPL accepted the award on behalf of the Friends.
The NRCCS also awarded its annual $1,000 scholarship to Sebastian Gonzalez, a New Rochelle High School junior who has demonstrated the mission of the New Rochelle Council of Community Services by his extraordinary volunteer work for Songcatchers, Inc.
The New Rochelle Council of Community Services, established in 1936, is a 501c3 non-profit umbrella organization for the health and human service agencies, religious institutions, and educational facilities of New Rochelle. NRCCS provides an important opportunity for service-providers and community administrators to make vital connections and address community needs.
