Con Ed Distributing Dry Ice In 2 Locations
The power company said crews are prioritizing restorations that will bring power to critical facilities and the greatest number of people.
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Con Edison will be distributing dry ice in two Westchester County locations Sunday. The two locations, which will be open until 6 p.m., are:
- Staples, 3303 Crompond Rd., Yorktown Heights
- New Rochelle City Hall, rear parking lot, 515 North Ave., New Rochelle
Safe handling and disposal instructions will be provided along with the dry ice. According to Con Ed, dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide and should be used only in well-ventilated areas. Children and pets should be kept away.
Con Edison said its crews will continue to work around the clock to restore electric service. Company crews are prioritizing restorations that will bring power to critical facilities and the greatest number of people as quickly as possible, with restorations that affect smaller numbers of people to follow.
