Connecticut Man Arrested in New Rochelle, Charged with Felony Drunk Driving
Police said he was four times the legal limit for alcohol.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The response to a possible disabled vehicle led to a felony drunk driving accusation.
State Police said they were called approximately 1:08 p.m. Friday about a Lincoln Town Car driven by David S. Rippel, 59, of Greenwich, CT.
He was stopped on I-95 near Exit 16 in New Rochelle and was found to be intoxicated, police said.

Rippel was taken to the New Rochelle barracks for processing, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.32 percent—or four times the legal limit.
Police said he had prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years and was subsequently charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony.

Rippel was released on an appearance ticket to a sober third party.
He is scheduled to appear in court October 6.
