CVS Will Relocate To New North Avenue Retail Space

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — CVS Pharmacy is relocating its store at 625 North Ave. in New Rochelle. The company has signed a multi-year lease for retail space at The Rockwell, which is going up down the block.

YoungCraft, a real estate development company with properties in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Florida, is constructing the mixed retail and housing development as well as one across the street, called The Illustrator, which is scheduled to break ground in September.

The new CVS location is scheduled to open in the 2nd quarter of 2020.

“We are thrilled to have CVS Pharmacy be the inaugural tenant of this fabulous retail space at
“The Rockwell." We worked closely with the CVS team to create an easily-accessible, drive thru
pharmacy window, on-site truck loading, and ample parking within steps of the front entrance,”
said Robert Young, partner of YoungCraft, in an announcement.

The Rockwell, named for the famous New Rochelle artist, Norman Rockwell, will feature 114 luxury apartments, a rooftop terrace, a community lounge, a fitness center and an additional 144 parking spaces for residents and adjoining retail customers. CVS will occupy 13,200 square feet of the development’s 22,000 total square feet devoted to ground floor retail. Construction is scheduled to be completed in summer 2020.

“CVS will provide ‘The Rockwell’ residents and all City residents with a convenient shopping option for their daily prescription, health, and household needs," Young said. "We couldn’t be happier to have them on-board as we continue to revitalize this stretch of North Avenue."

The new CVS will feature a drive-through window. Its hours will be the same as the pharmacy department hours, which have not been finalized at this time, said a spokesman for CVS. It will also have 63 parking spaces.

“CVS’s continued presence on North Avenue as an anchor tenant of “The Rockwell” is good news for the area and for New Rochelle’s overall development plans," said New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson. "We wish them well in this new space and look forward to additional progress on North Avenue and throughout the downtown overlay zone.”
