29-Year-Old Victim In Fatal New Rochelle Shooting ID'd
After receiving reports of shots fired, police found the victim on the ground at the scene, with multiple gunshot wounds.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The identity of a 29-year-old victim of a daylight shooting in a downtown New Rochelle residential neighborhood has been released by authorities.
The shooting victim has now been identified as James Caldwell Jr.
"The New Rochelle Police Department extend condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Caldwell," police said in a statement releasing new details about the daylight homicide.

On Wednesday, shortly before 6 p.m., the New Rochelle Police Department started to get reports of shots fired and of a person shot, near the intersection of Horton Ave. and Colonel Lee Archer Blvd. at the New Rochelle Municipal Housing Authority Heritage Homes.
Police found Caldwell at the scene, on the ground, with multiple gunshot wounds. New Rochelle police, fire and ambulance personnel administered first aid and he was taken to a local hospital.

Caldwell eventually died from his wounds.
New Rochelle detectives are investigating this incident and ask that anyone with information related to the shooting call New Rochelle police at 914-654-2300.
