Deadline Looming To Apply For Ida Disaster Assistance

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — With the deadline for applying for disaster assistance from Hurricane Ida rapidly approaching, a Federal Emergency Management Agency Disaster Recovery will be open Tuesday until 6 p.m. at New Rochelle City Hall.

The last day to apply for federal assistance due to Ida is Monday, Dec 6.

The FEMA center is set up in City Hall's Annex, Room B1, 90 Beaufort Place in New Rochelle.

Small Business Administration staff will be there as well, organizers said.

Both agencies will be there to help survivors of Ida apply for FEMA disaster assistance and get answers to their questions.

The SBA Business Recovery Center at the American Legion Post #8, 112 North Ave. in New Rochelle, continues to be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

People can apply online for assistance by clicking here.

Anyone can apply by phone by calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. Lines are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week, and operators can connect you to a specialist who speaks your language. If you use a relay service such as 711/VRS (video relay service), captioned telephone service or others, give FEMA the number for that service.
