'Deep Waters' Takes New Beginnings Performing Arts School New Places

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A whole new audience will have a chance to admire a glistening jewel in the crown of the "Queen City of the Sound."

The New Beginnings Performing Arts School will be presenting "Deep Waters" at the Brownson Hall Theater at Manhattanville College this Saturday. There will be performances at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The shows will include dancers from a wide range of ages and backgrounds — all with a shared love for performing.

"There are multiple individual stories of perseverance, triumph, community, disappointment and resilience that parallels the theatrical performance of 'Deep Waters' and has brought us to this day," organizers promise. "In a time when it appears to require effort to find something hopeful in our environment and the news around us, New Beginnings provided a safe space for members of the community to express themselves through their art and share it with anyone willing to sit, see, listen and engage."

The production of "Deep Waters" was made possible through the support of both ArtsWestchester and the New York State delegation through their Arts Alive Grant.

New Beginnings Performing Arts Studio, LLC is the dream child of Kyra Johnson (Ms. Jay), Founder and Creative Director. As a lifelong dancer and professional educator, Ms. Jay aims to bridge the gap between the traditional education system and the profound community need for structured and supportive performing arts education.
