Weather Changes Hudson Valley Schools' Schedules Friday

The first of two snow events has hit the Hudson Valley. Some schools have announced the delay of classes.

The National Weather Service says light snow will continue to fall across the area through much of the morning commute, except east of NYC, where light snow may continue into the mid morning hours. Total snowfall amounts should generally be an inch or less.

Motorists should be prepared for the possibility of slippery roads and use caution while driving.

As of 6:15 a.m., the following delays have been announced for Friday, Jan. 18 (this list will be updated as necessary):

• Albertus Magnus High School: 2 hour delay
• Clarkstown schools: 2 hour delay
• Cornwall schools: 2 hour delay
• East Ramapo schools: 2 hour delay
• Ellenville schools: 2 hour delay
• Greenburgh-Graham schools: 1 hour delay
• Greenwood Lake schools: 2 hour delay
• Iona Preparatory School: Lower school faculty and staff to report by 9:30 a.m.; students by 10 a.m.. Upper school faculty and staff to report by 10 a.m.; students by 10:30 a.m. All exams will begin promptly at 11 a.m.
• Kingston schools: 2 hour delay
• Marlboro schools: 2 hour delay
• The Masters School: 1 hour delay
• Middletown schools: 2 hour delay
• Minisink schools: 2 hour delay
• Monroe-Woodbury: 2 hour delay
• New Paltz schools: 2 hour delay
• New York School for the Deaf: 2 hour delay
• Newburgh schools: 2 hour delay
• North Rockland schools: 2 hour delay
• Orange-Ulster BOCES: 2 hour delay
• Poughkeepsie schools: 2 hour delay, no a.m. kindergarten
• Putnam Valley schools: 2 hour delay
• Rockland BOCES: 2 hour delay
• Saugerties schools: 2 hour delay
• Suffern Central schools: 2 hour delay
• Tuxedo schools: 2 hour delay
• Valley Central: 2 hour delay
• Wallkill: 2 hour delay
• West Point schools: 2 hour delay
• U.S. Military Academy West Point Employees: Code White until 9:30 a.m. Possible update after 7:30 a.m.
