NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Halloween is in the rearview mirror and Thanksgiving guest lists are already in the works, but for those of us who aren't ready to start holiday shopping or listening to Christmas music on the radio, Dia de los Muertos celebrations are continuing at the library.

The New Rochelle Public Library (NRPL) and The New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District (NRBID) are celebrating Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with a performance by the Calpulli Mexican Dance Company on Wednesday, at 7 p.m.

The Dia de los Muertos-inspired program will feature songs, dances and stories. The performance will feature live music with dance and education elements where dancers and musicians will explain the imagery, culture and rhythms of the performance and the significance of Dia de los Muertos. Selections from the company's repertoire will include folk, native and contemporary works developed across the dance company's nearly 20-year history.
