DID YOU SAY 'THANK YOU' TODAY?

THANK YOU.

It may seem like it’s only two words. But those two words can really make a big difference in brightening  someone’s dreary day.

There are a lot of ways to say ‘thank you’. Of course, there’s the verbal expression. It cuts to the chase. It directly expresses your appreciation for someone’s efforts: acknowledgement for a job well done,  gratitude for your business, or gratefulness for your assistance.

There’s also the unspoken ‘thank you’: a wave of the hand when you let another car cross in front of you, a wide-eyed smile from a child opening a birthday gift, a hand-written note of recognition, a small gift left on a co-worker’s desk, or an afternoon cup of coffee for an employee .

We have many things to be thankful for. But it seems in today’s time-pressed world, we often neglect to take a moment to offer our thanks to the people who do nice things for us. So I’d like to take a moment to thank all the people who made a difference in my day today: the mailman who ran back to hand me a letter he forgot to deliver, the waiter who kept refilling my empty coffee cup, the neighbor who brought back the top of my garbage can that blew away, the optician who helped me pick out my new (first!) pair of glasses, and the guy who cut me off on the highway so that I could make sure my anti-lock brakes were working (ok, maybe not him).

It’s important to say thank you. It makes us and others feel appreciated, understood, and, yes, loved. It’s a lesson I learn every day from my dog. His wagging tail, soulful eyes, and big wet kisses are his way of saying ‘thank you’.  Cooper, you’re very welcome!

And as we celebrate our fourth birthday, THANK YOU to all of our clients and patients for entrusting me and the staff of Mobile Vet Squad with the care of your pets! It means the world to us.

Thank you for reading.
