District 10 Legislator Race Pits Marcotte Against Fitzpatrick
John Fitzpatrick is challenging incumbent Sheila Marcotte for a seat on the Westchester County Board of Legislators representing District 10.

The race to represent District 10 on the Westchester County Board of Legislators is between a former Tuckahoe village mayor and the incumbent Republican.
Incumbent Legislator Sheila Marcotte, running on the Republican, Conservative and Independence lines, is being challegend by former Tuckahoe mayor John Fitzpatrick, running on the Democratic and Working Families lines.
District 10 which covers Eastchester, Tuckahoe and part of New Rochelle.

Marcotte, who won the conservative party primary back in September, said that if she wins re-election, she plans to keep a tight leash on spending in Westchester.
“Westchester County does not have a revenue problem it has a spending problem and basic kitchen table economics dictates that you cannot spend what you do not have,” she said.

Fitzpatrick was elected mayor in 2007 and also served on the Tuckahoe Planning Board and as a commissioner of the Tuckahoe Police Department. He believes that his creation of jobs and not having to raise property taxes while in Tuckahoe displays his ability to effectively lead.
"I ended wasteful spending, enacted new green policies that saved taxpayers' money and actually increased town revenues without raising property taxes by bringing jobs and new businesses into downtown Tuckahoe," he said.
