Drive-By Murder Trial Adjourned Because Only 1 Suspect Appears in Court

The victim was shot in a Burger King parking lot in Yonkers.

Only one of four suspects in the killing of baseball prospect Michael Nolan appeared in court Wednesday.

Judge Robert Neary apparently had no choice but to adjourn the trial until June 22, according to a report on FIOS1News.com.

Nashaun Hunter, Garth O'Neil, Darren Dawson and Tejmitra Sing were arrested March 2 and charged with felonies in the drive-by shooting of Nolan.

Only Dawson appeared in court, FIOS1News.com said.

Nolan was standing in a Burger King parking lot on Central Park Avenue in Yonkers Sept. 18 when he was struck in the head by a bullet.

He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx where he died Oct. 9 after being in a coma.

Nolan had been drafted by the Oakland Athletics in 2014, while he was on the baseball team at Oklahoma City University.
