Driver Who Crashed Into The Drake Injuring 5 Arrested For DWI: NRPD
The driver was also charged with assault and resisting arrest following the early morning crash at the New Rochelle night spot.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The driver who injured five pedestrians and crashed into a New Rochelle night spot was drunk, according to police.
On Sunday, shortly before 4:30 a.m., New Rochelle police responded to Drake Avenue on a report that a car crashed into a building and a number of people were hurt. Police found the vehicle wedged against the building and were able to render aid to five pedestrians who were hurt in the crash.
The victims were taken by ambulance to local hospitals. Police said none of the injuries appeared life-threatening. Authorities said further investigation resulted in the driver, identified as New Rochelle resident Rene Alvarez, being arrested for a slew of charges that included driving while intoxicated.

Police said the 30-year-old was arrested for driving while intoxicated, third degree assault, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
