NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle public school students will be let out of class 15 minutes early Thursday. According to an email from interim Superintendent Magda Parvey, this is the annual "Rapid Dismissal" emergency preparedness drill.

The drill is required by the state Education Department to test early dismissal procedures.

At the elementary schools, the buses will adjust their afternoon schedules accordingly. The Bee-Line buses that transport middle and high school students will not alert their schedules.
