Election '23: New Rochelle Mayor-Elect Ramos-Herbert To Take The Reins

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The polls have closed and the time for campaigning is done. Here are the latest unofficial results of Election Day 2023, according to the Westchester County Board of Elections.

Here is what voters in New Rochelle decided:

Yadira Ramos-Herbert has declared victory over Louis J. Trangucci and will become New Rochelle's first new mayor in nearly two decades in January.

"With a heart full of gratitude, I am thrilled to announce that together, we have ushered in a new era for New Rochelle," Ramos-Herbert said in a statement released on social media Tuesday night. "Your belief, your voices, and your votes have propelled this campaign to a historic victory, and I am humbled by your support. This campaign was about more than just one election. It was about breaking barriers and creating a city that reflects our vision for New Rochelle. I am deeply grateful to each and every one of you who cast your vote for this vision to continue moving New Rochelle forward.
