The College of New Rochelle will feature “Impromptu Whereabouts” by artist Yasemin Kackar-Demirel in the Mooney Center Gallery on the Main Campus in New Rochelle from January 29, 2011, to February 21, 2011.
“Impromptu Whereabouts” explores the rise and fall of places through physical and emotional conducts. Artist Kackar-Demirel says of her work, “My paintings, drawings and installations rely heavily on reflecting my responses to both the physical and emotional aspects of natural and man-made environments. I like to work with random juxtapositions of places in nature and the urban environment and re-present them in puzzling and surprising contexts.”
A reception will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2011, from 3 to 5 p.m.
