Toward a Philosophy of the Everyday

NEW ROCHELLE, NY, August 15, 2011— The Castle Gallery of The College of New Rochelle will feature “Toward a Philosophy of the Everyday” from September 6 through
November 25, 2011. The opening reception is on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 2 to 4 pm.

There will be an artist's panel and discussion of the exhibition on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 6:45-8:00 p.m. in Romita Auditorium on the New Rochelle
campus.

This exhibit is a featured stop on the New Rochelle Council on the Arts’ ArtsFest weekend (Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25, 12 to 5 pm).

Artists: Jessica Jackson Hutchins, William Stone, Jeanne Silverthorne, Martha Colburn, Andy Coolquitt, Patrick O’Hare, Ruth Hardinger, Lisa Hoke, Heather Rowe, Jedediah
Caesar, Arthur Simms, Rashawn Griffin, and Ian Burns.
The work of each of these thirteen artists is an open-ended, inclusive and processoriented inquiry into the philosophy of the everyday, one that invites the public to
explore ways art relates to both the practice and meaning of daily life.

This exhibition is organized by Susan Canning, Professor of Art History in the Art Department in the School of Arts & Sciences at the College.

Castle Gallery is open from 10 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 10 am to 8 pm on Wednesday, and 12 noon to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
