Extra Metro-North Trains For Thanksgiving Parade And Black Friday

Whether going to see the Snoopy balloon or looking for the best sales, the railroad is making it a little easier to get from here to there.

On Thanksgiving, the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven lines will run on a special schedule, with extra trains and more cars before and after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Metro-North is modifying schedules and adding trains to make it easier for holiday shoppers and paradegoers to get around during what is expected to be a historically busy travel weekend.

On Wednesday, the New Haven Line will operate on a Friday schedule. All other lines will operate a weekday schedule. Extra outbound trains will run in the early afternoon on most lines to help commuters get out of town and on their way to grandma's house.

On Thanksgiving, the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven lines will run on a special schedule, with extra trains and more cars before and after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Port Jervis and Pascack Valley lines will run on a weekend schedule.

On Black Friday, Metro-North will operate on a Saturday schedule on all lines, with extra service in the morning and evening rush periods to make it easier for shoppers to get into the city and get started on that shopping list.
