Extra Security At New Rochelle Schools After Online Threat

The school district said it believes the student who make the threat has been identified.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A Snapchat post alleging that there will be a school shooting Monday is being investigated by the City School District of New Rochelle and the New Rochelle Police Department. The school district sent a message Sunday saying they had been made aware of the post and that they believe they have identified the student who made the post.

“We are following up with the student and the student’s family,” the post said.

The threat assessment at this time is deemed to be low, the district’s message said.

Police were assigned to the high school as well as both middle school.
