Farmer's Market Coupons Available For New Rochelle Seniors

The discount coupons can be used at either of the farmer's markets in New Rochelle.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle seniors could be entitled to discount farmers market coupons. According to information from the city, to be eligible, individuals must be 60 years of age or older and have have a monthly income at or below $1,872 for a single person, $2,538 for a couple or $3,204 for a three-person household.

Someone 60 or older and currently receiving or eligible to receive Supplemental Security Income, public assistance or a Section 8 housing subsidy.

The checkbook-style coupons will be distributed while supplies last through Sept. 28 at the Hugh Doyle Senior Center, 94 Davis Ave. in New Rochelle from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Proof of age and New Rochelle residency are required.

Applicants must come in person to sign affidavitt.

The coupons are valid at the New Rochelle Farmer’s Market, located at City Hall every Friday, and at the Grand Market, at Library Green, every Saturday through summer and fall.

Funding is provided by the state Department of Agriculture and Markets collaborating with the state Office for the Aging and the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services.
