FEMA Experts Give Ida Recovery Repair Tips At Home Depot

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — FEMA has teamed with Lowe’s in Garden City and The Home Depot in New Rochelle to provide free information and tips on how to make homes damaged by natural disasters stronger and safer.

FEMA experts will be on hand in New Rochelle to offer repair advice to homeowners from November 15 - 20.

The federal disaster specialists will be available to answer questions and offer explanations about techniques for building hazard-resistant homes to help prevent or reduce damage from future disasters. Most information is geared for do-it-yourself and general contractors’ work.

FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation advisors are available Nov. 15 to Nov. 20 at The Home Depot on Weyman Ave. from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Free reference booklets with information about protecting a home from flood damage will also be available to local homeowners.
