Fire Erupts In New Rochelle Home, 2 Parakeets Killed
The family wasn't at home at the time of the blaze.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A three-story house was heavily damaged Tuesday morning by a fire in New Rochelle. No one was in the home when the blaze erupted around 9 a.m., but the family’s two parakeets were killed.

He borrowed a phone from someone on the street and called 911.
