First-Ever New Rochelle Pride Festival Ready to 'Sizzle' This Weekend
The celebration will coincide with the New Rochelle Summer Sizzle Concert Series. Get ready for music, food trucks, and even a roller rink.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle is pulling out all the stops for a one-of-a-kind celebration of respect and inclusiveness, and you're invited.
The City of New Rochelle announced that its first-ever New Rochelle Pride Festival will be held on Saturday, from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m., in Ruby Dee Park. The Pride Celebration will coincide with the city's Summer Sizzle Concert Series, with a free performance of Philadelphia Freedom: A Tribute to Elton John, at 7 p.m.

There will be plenty of family-friendly fun at the event, including a roller skating rink, a photo wall, and live music. Local food trucks will include Carrito, Leila Empanadas, Sweet Spice, and Hawaiian Shaved Ice.
New Rochelle says that the colorful and exciting event will bring together community members, allies and visitors to commemorate and embrace the city’s LGBTQ+ community.

"New Rochelle is a welcoming, inclusive community in which all people are encouraged to be their true selves," Mayor Noam Bramson said. "By celebrating Pride Month in conjunction with our Summer Sizzle Concert Series, we bring our city together and affirm that love is love."
New Rochelle's Mobile City Hall will also be available during the Pride Celebration, allowing residents to interact directly with local government and access city services. The Mobile City Hall will be staffed by city personnel who will provide relevant information, answer questions, and help attendees with city-related matters.
Several community organizations such as the Westchester County Human Rights Commission, New Rochelle Pride, Humane Society of Westchester, Montefiore Medical Center, Center Lane, and The Loft will also be on hand.
"Ruby Dee Park will be the center of a joyous celebration of diversity, inclusivity, and love for Pride in New Rochelle," City Manager Kathleen Gill said. "We are thrilled to honor and support the LGBTQ+ community, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the vibrant tapestry of New Rochelle. This special evening, within this important month, embodies the spirit of acceptance and unity that defines our city."
