Former Blueshirt Stephane Matteau To Host Rangers Viewing Party At Dan Rooney's
Stephane Matteau hosts Rangers viewing party at Empire City's Dan Rooney's Sports Bar on Sat, Mar 12 as the Blueshirts take on the Red Wings
“Matteau, Matteau, Matteau” was the radio call made famous by Howie Rose when Stephane Matteau vaulted the New York Rangers into the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals with an overtime goal against the New Jersey Devils. Rangers’ zealots can relive the moment when Dan Rooney’s Sports Bar at Empire City Casino hosts Matteau on Saturday, March 12 at the “Official Rangers Viewing Party” beginning at 1:00 PM. The Rangers will face off against the Detroit Red Wings at 2:00 PM.
Matteau, a key member of the Rangers ’94 Stanley Cup championship team, will meet and greet fans, and pose for photographs outside of Dan Rooney’s from 1:00-2:00 PM. Stephane will then join fans at Dan Rooney’s to watch game, including trivia sessions and a Q & A between periods.
The Rangers “Blue Crew” will be on-site with great giveaways – T-shirts, rally towels, stress pucks, keychains and more.
ESPN NY Radio 98.7 FM will broadcast live from Dan Rooney's from noon to 2:00 PM, hosted Dave Rothenberg.
Empire City will provide a complimentary bus service to the casino from Madison Square Garden at 12 noon, and the return trip to the Garden will depart at 5:30 PM.
Fans can view the action on Dan Rooney’s 40 large-screen HDTV’s.
Former Rangers star Steve Vickers was a big hit at the first Dan Rooney’s Rangers Viewing Party on February 27.
