Former Monroe College Player Signs with NBA's Dallas Mavericks
Maurice Ndour, who speaks five languages, hails from Senegal.
Maurice Ndour, who played collegiate basketball at both Monroe College and Ohio University, recently signed a three-year contract with the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association, according to Monroe College officials.
Ndour, who was born and raised in Senegal, reportedly had offers from both the New York Knicks and Mavericks, and he chose Dallas because guaranteed money was greater.
“It is so gratifying to see my hard work pay off,” said Ndour in a statement. “Monroe College was an important springboard for me. It was my entrance into America and it allowed me to showcase my skills. If it wasn’t for my time in New Rochelle, I don’t know if I’d be headed to Dallas today.”
