Freezing Fog, Black Ice Causing Travel Hazards Saturday

The National Weather Service has issued special statements and hazardous outlooks for the region.

Freezing fog and wet roadways are causing hazardous travel conditions in the Hudson Valley Saturday. The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for portions of the mid-Hudson Valley, including western Columbia, eastern Ulster and western Dutchess.

The NWS warns of freezing fog resulting in limited visibility and black ice in areas including Catskill, Hudson, Kingston, New Paltz, Poughkeepsie and Beacon.

A hazardous weather outlook was issued for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties regarding wet roadways from Friday's precipitation producing areas of black ice on untreated surfaces.

Motorists are advised to use caution, slow down and leave plenty of room between you and the next vehicle.

Untreated sidewalks and parking lots may be slippery as well, so pedestrians should use caution.
