Freezing Rain, Sleet Expected During Evening Commute Monday

Travel could be difficult and motorists should be prepared for slippery roads.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for parts of the Hudson Valley for Monday. The National Weather Service said the advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Monday for Rockland, Putnam and Westchester counties.

Freezing rain is expected to occur, including during the evening commute. A light glaze of ice is expected.

The NWS said a brief period of freezing rain is expected for an hour or two, then will quickly transition to sleet and snow before ending.
