Goodwill Store Opens in New Rochelle
Shoppers welcome affordable goods during hard economic times.
City Manager Chuck Strome, Mayor Noam Bramson and many others from City Hall were on hand Thursday to cut the ribbon for a new 14,000 square foot Goodwill store in New Rochelle.
The store—located 8 Joyce Road, next to ShopRite on Palmer Avenue— opened to crowds waiting outside to shop.
Resident Rosemary McLaughlin made the first purchase—a pair of pants for her son. "I saw them and they were just beckoning," said McLaughlin, "They will fit my son and he will be happy."
