Graffiti Removal Outsourced in New Rochelle
Private property owners will have 10 days to remove the graffiti or the city will bill them.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - New Rochelle is stepping up its graffiti removal program.
Even though the city code requires the removal of unsightly graffiti within 48 hours, City Manager Charles B. Strome said that staffing levels haven’t allowed for consistent enforcement.
A new program, using an outside contractor, will speed up the process.

“We can now effectively commit to our own cleanup,” Strome said, “and turn our attention to enforcing the code for private properties.”
For public property, graffiti will be removed within 48 hours of being reported. With private properties, an abatement notice will be issued to owners within two business days of being reported to the city.

Property owners will then have 10 days to remove the graffiti or the city will remove it and bill the property owner.
