Heat Is Back, Advisory Issued For Parts Of Westchester
After a few rainy days, the heat has returned for the Hudson Valley.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Now that we’ve had a few days of rain, the heat is back. While the high temperatures throughout the region are forecast to be in the upper 80s, only southern Westchester is under a heat advisory.
The National Weather Service said the advisory is in effect from noon Wednesday to 6 p.m Thursday.
The humidity will make the temperatures feel like the mid- to upper 90s Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon.

Heat and humidity may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure.
A heat advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 95 to 99 degrees for two or more consecutive days, or 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency. In cases of heat stroke. call 911.
