Help Support The New Rochelle Council on the Arts And The Environment

The Stop & Shop in New Rochelle will donate proceeds from the sale of reusable "community" bags to the NRCA during the month of July.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The New Rochelle Stop & Shop is giving shoppers the chance to support the New Rochelle Council on the Arts (NRCA) and their mission of stimulating and encouraging the study and presentation of the performing and fine arts in New Rochelle.

And you might just help save the environment at the same time.

Stop & Shop's community bag program will benefit the NRCA during the month of July. A portion of the proceeds from reusable bags sold at the Stop & Shop store, located at 2425 Palmer Ave., will be donated to the non-profit organization.

Every $2.50 reusable Community Bag sold supports a non-profit local to the store in which it was purchased. Each month, at every Stop & Shop location, a different local non-profit is selected to benefit from the sale of these special reusable Community Bags. Donations from the program started in 2019 have supported groups focused on education, civic, health/wellness, hunger relief and military/veteran organizations.

The NRCA was selected as the July beneficiary by the New Rochelle Stop & Shop. The non-profit will receive a $1 donation for every $2.50 reusable community bag purchased at the store throughout the month.

The New Rochelle Council on the Arts (NRCA) was created in 1975 by the New Rochelle City Council to stimulate and encourage the study and presentation of the performing and fine arts; in 2005 NRCA became a 501 ( C ) (3) organization. For more than 46 years NRCA has worked to fulfill its mission by sponsoring art exhibitions, public art, theatrical productions, dance recitals, film screenings, lectures and concert series.
