How To Cool Off In New Rochelle As Temperatures Soar

The weather forecast is calling for heat index values between 95º F and 104º F this week.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — With heat index values between 95º F and 104º F this week in Westchester County, the city is opening several cooling centers.

Those without air conditioning are urged to visit one of New Rochelle's cooling centers:

  • New Rochelle Public Library, 1 Library Plaza; check hours on the library website
  • Hugh Doyle Senior Center, 94 Davis Ave., Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Note: Snacks, but no meals, will be provided on June 19.
  • Hudson Park Beach, 1 Hudson Park Rd., Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Splash pads will also be open at Anderson Plaza from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Flowers "City" Park from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
