Twenty juniors from Iona Preparatory School in New Rochelle rolled up their sleeves to remove graffiti from the stone underpass of the Bronx River Reservation in Bronxville Thursday in partnership with Westchester Parks Foundation’s Thalle Industries Graffiti Squad. The volunteer opportunity was one of six between now and Oct. 30 that Iona Prep has scheduled with the Westchester Parks Foundation to help beautify the county’s parks.

Other projects will take place at Croton Point Park in Croton, Cranberry Lake Preserve in North White Plains, and Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown.

The effort has been spearheaded as part of Iona Prep’s new House System, which encourages students to work cooperatively in the spirit of brotherhood and service.
